The Joint Special Operations Command, which is headquartered at Ft. Bragg, NC. provides command and control for the Special Miltary Units. These highly trained units answer directly to the Secretary of Defense and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. They are assigned very highly classified counter-terrorism and counter-prolification of weapons of mass destruction missions. Main units: U. S. Army Special Forces Detachment-D (Delta Force) U. S. Navy Special Warfare Development Group (DEVGRU) U. S. Air Force 24th Special Tactics Squadron Support units: U. S. Army Special Operations Aviation Regiment U. S. Army 75th Ranger Regiment Intelligence Support Activity(ISA) provides the unique tactical intelligence needed for planning counter-terrorism and counter-prolification special operations;
